AUCHENFLOWER – Contemporary “gable”

Concept – Repeat, in a contemporary idiom, the form of the existing gable roof behind the existing house to create a juxtaposition of old and new.

Design – The existing very small house has an uncommon transverse gable roof . Remodelling and extending to the rear repeats the concept of the transverse gable roof in a contemporary fashion, as a low pitch sprung curved roof, maximizing the internal volume.
